Without doubt, two of the best Castlevania games ever made, that of Symphony of the night and Rondo of Blood, are grouped in a new collection called Castlevania Requiem the exit is scheduled for October.
Although we have already had high definition remastering at Symphony of the nightWhat I'm most excited to see in this collection is the amazing game Rondo of Blood.
Originally released in 1993 for the PC Engine CD in Japan, this was the beginning of a functional and narrative change for the Castlevania series. With Richter Belmont, he had a fantastic level design that offered branching paths, which made the game more complex than its linear precursors.
He was also hailed on his release and, due to his limited availability outside of Japan, he became a bit cultured among gamers and often cost collectors a lot.
While Rondo of Blood was released on the SNES as Dracula Xit was not really the same game in many ways and the original version of the PC Engine CD is still considered the definitive version.
That's why this collection is so fantastic that we all know it Symphony of the night is great but it also means that Rondo of Blood will be made more accessible to those who want a piece of classic Castlevania action.
After all, Richter plays a big role in both games, so I'm happy to see them grouped like that.
Castlevania Requiem will emulate both games for the PlayStation 4, but this collection will also support conversion to 4K and 1080p resolutions, as well as various rendering options. This collection will also have trophies, platinum being rather difficult to acquire apparently.
