Google sets up a repair center by mail for its Pixel devices

When you have already broken something on your Pixel smartphone, you must contact an authorized third-party repairer such as uBreakiFix or Puls to have your devices repaired. But now, it seems that Google is about to launch its own repair center by mail. If you go to the Google Store, you will now find a section dedicated to repairing your smartphone manufactured by Google, either through instructions or by sending this information.

In case you simply need help figuring out how to fix your damaged Pixel smartphone, the landing page contains links to help pages that may help you. If you're having audio, battery charge, flashlight, or software problems, they'll come up with solutions to fix those issues. Just remember that if you are not confident enough to fix these problems yourself, do not even try to do it or ask a friend for help.

But if the problem is a cracked screen or if you drowned your phone accidentally, it's time for the professionals to work on it. You will be prompted to enter the IMEI number of your phone and if it is determined that it is still under warranty and the problem is not caused by accidental damage, your repair will always be free and your shipping will not be charged .

If your problem is not covered by the warranty or if your device is no longer under warranty, you will receive a quote for the actual repair. For example, a cracked screen will cost about $ 239 and a water damaged unit will cost you $ 413. These costs are for the Pixel 2 XL and are tax free. However, Google will cover the shipping costs and send you prepaid packages for free. Repairs will take approximately 7 to 10 days after shipment.

Until now, only Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 XL are eligible for the repair center. Obviously, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be added at its launch on October 9th. Moreover, this is only available for the moment in the United States.
