Fist announced at the Apple event in Chicago that the company had launched its new "Everybody Can Create" teaching program on Apple Books. The program joins Apple programs The "Everyone Can Code" initiative offers teachers a way to integrate drawing, music, film making and photography into their class plans.
Everyone can create is designed to take advantage of Apple's new 9.7-inch iPad and Apple Pencil, also featured at the company's March event in Chicago. Before its introduction, only Apple's iPad Pro model offered support for Pencil. However, the new iPad costs only $ 299 for schools, just like the previous 9.7-inch device. The program itself was designed by Apple in collaboration with teachers and educators. It complements Apple's built-in applications such as GarageBand, iMovie, Clips, and more. The program includes four project guides for drawing, music, videos and photos, each comprising a series of projects that progressively develop skills. Apple has had some success with its previous program, "Everyone Can Code," which is now used in more than 5,000 schools, community colleges, and technical schools around the world. It also offers an extensive library of third-party education applications for use by teachers – there are almost 200,000 on the App Store today.
"Everyone Can Create" is now available in English on Apple Books, with the other languages being deployed by the end of 2018. Apple Stores will also be offering "Everyone Can Create" at Tuesday's sessions of Apple Teacher.
