It's a very unusual material choice for a laptop, 100% genuine leather, but that's what HP has chosen for the new HP Specter Folio 13. How will this leather last in time? This is a question we can not answer for the moment.
But we know that it's the leather outer shell that lets you use the device in different modes, including laptop, media and tablet modes. The fanless laptop is not only supposed to look great, it must also offer a daily battery life. According to HP, this is 18 hours because the Specter Folio contains "one of the smallest motherboards on the market." Permanent 4G LTE connectivity is also built into some models with dual-eSIM and nano-SIM support.
Other features include a 13.3-inch Micro Edge display with Full HD or 4K resolution, an 8th generation Intel Core processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB storage, Bang & Olufsen sound, USB ports, C, Windows 10 and digital pen support. If you need more memory, the RAM reaches 16 GB. The storage can be upgraded up to 2 TB.
The prices of Full HD, HP Specter Folios, start at $ 1,299 for the Core i5 model and $ 1,399 for the Core i7. If you want LTE, it will cost you more, with a price of up to $ 1,499. You will soon be able to preorder the device on HP.com and Best Buy.
The Cognac Brown versions will be launched on October 29, while Bordeaux Burgundy and 4K will arrive in December.
