Adobe focuses on a connected experience with the new Acrobat DC

The modest PDF file has been around for 25 years and during that time, little has changed. Changes to a PDF file can always be a daunting task, and most popular applications offer few solutions. But that could soon change for the better.

Today, Adobe unveils a brand new version of Acrobat DC allowing users to create, share and interact more easily with PDF files on different devices. The update revolves around a central document hub including files saved in Adobe Cloud via several different applications.

As part of the big update, Acrobat Pro also arrives on Android and iOS for the first time. The experience is almost identical to that of the desktop version of the application, with support for image exchange, text updating, and document formatting.

Adobe Scan also receives a small update for the scanning and analysis of business cards. Now users can translate maps into new languages ​​and export the translation to their contacts (as a virtual contact file or vCard). They will still need to scan one card at a time, but batch export should be a relief for anyone involved in large-scale business card scanning.

During the short test period of the new software, Google Drive was reminded because it allows suggestions, comments and analysis between different users. But the real breakthrough is how the update allows digital signing with Adobe Sign. The finalization of contracts and other important documents can now be done from any phone or tablet.

Finally, Adobe Sensei is now available in Adobe Reader. This artificial intelligence technology is able to scan a document to see what needs to be filled, and then prompt the user to make suggestions to fill the content.
