Infiniti replaced the main body panels – hood, roof, trunk lid and fenders – with aerodynamically optimized new carbon fiber panels, saving considerable weight compared to production steel panels. In fact, despite the addition of more than 200 kg of powertrain and hybrid cooling equipment, Infiniti maintains its weight at 3,715 kg (3,915 lb), just 24 kg more than the standard Q60 Red Sport 400 .
