As the calendar is now turned to October, the smartphone season in the fall continues to heat up. With the recent announcement of Samsung's latest Galaxy Note and Apple iPhones, we expect that other manufacturers, including OnePlus, Razer and Google, are preparing for the coming, which all have events scheduled for the end of the month.

While some of these companies have kept their phones secret, Google's rumors about upcoming Pixels have appeared on the Internet in recent months, and have even appeared on the back of a Lyft.

Here is an overview of what we are waiting for at the big event organized by Google on October 9th.

Names and design

Similar to last year, Google is expected to introduce two new Pixel phones: a Pixel 3 and a larger Pixel 3 XL. Both phones are designed to receive design enhancements and have two front cameras. Pixel 3 should look like last year's Pixel 2 XL, with smaller frames, while retaining a smaller form factor and a 5.4-inch screen, slightly larger than the Pixel 2 of 5 inches from last year.

The Pixel 3 XL, meanwhile, displays a size of up to about 6.7 inches (6 inches) and embraces the edge-to-edge screen with a notch design, Apple, LG, OnePlus and almost every other major manufacturer, with the exception of Samsung. adopted for its best phones in the last 18 months.

Although the notches have become common, their coupling with two selfie cameras is an interesting design. Here's what both phones should look like, thanks to Android Headlines.

Evan Blass, phone leak specialist, also tweeted to take a closer look at the two phones.

According to rumors, Google will introduce a third phone Pixel, but nothing substantial has yet filtered.

Cameras

One of the biggest successes of the Pixel range of Google is its impressive camera and its image software. The Pixel 2 range of last year, even with only one back camera, figured among the best phone cameras on the market and set high targets for this year's models.

According to rumors, Google will retain the unique camera configuration used last year. According to rumors, the sensor would have been 12.2 megapixels, like the phones of last year, although the exact improvements that will be added will remain a mystery. According to 9to5Google, Google would also introduce an updated version of its Pixel Visual Core image chip, but again, the improvements made by the new iteration are unknown.

Photos of a Pixel 3 XL were posted on Instagram in August by the Russian YouTuber Maksim Khoroshev, giving an overview of the camera.

Since September, Khoroshev has published an interactive document on Pixel 3 XL on the YouTube channel "Rozetked". While the video is in Russian, there are English subtitles.

As mentioned earlier, the Pixels 3 and 3 XL should both have two front cameras, each of which is supposed to be 8.1 megapixels. According to 9to5Google, the added sensor will improve the selfies on the front camera, but a facial recognition function is also possible.

Additional specifications

Like last year, the Pixels will be equipped with USB-C ports, headphone jacks and a fingerprint sensor at the back. Wireless charging has apparently been added, a welcome addition after missing out on last year's models. A Ukrainian technology blogger, shared by Android Police, says that USB-C headphones will be included in the box, though it's hard to determine whether Google will still offer an adapter to use traditional 3.5mm headphones .

As with most of the flagship Android 2018 products, Pixels should run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor.

As one would expect, the phones will use a version of Android 9 "Pie". The "Active Edge" gripping feature to call Google Assistant by squeezing the phone would also be present, according to a Google video marketing leaked software on the Pixel 3 that appeared on YouTube.

A recent promotional video from Google Japan also seems to corroborate this hypothesis.

Availability and colors

According to a Bloomberg report released earlier this year, Verizon is expected to once again become the exclusive US carrier of Pixel 3. Google has partnered with Verizon for its previous Pixels while releasing unlocked versions that work across all networks , in addition to its own Project Fi cellular service. This should be the case once again.

As for the colors, black and white options are provided, although recent rumors and leakage of Android Headlines also suggest a possible pink variation. A mint green color has also been prevalent.

According to Droid-Life, Verizon seems to have stopped selling Pixel 2 on its website, which, given the timing, suggests that the release of these new phones is probably not too far.
