What to expect during the October 9th Google event (and how to watch)

[ad_1]

Google is updating its material at an event held Oct. 9 at 11 pm (ET) in New York. We are expecting new phones, Chromecasts and personal devices Google Assistant.

PCMag will be there to bring you all the details, but if you want to watch live, Google will broadcast the live event on its MadeByGoogle YouTube page, embedded below.

The event has filtered enough to indicate that Google makes fun of leaks and rumors on his Instagram page.

Google Pixel 3

We have a separate rumored story for Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL. There are so many photos and videos of what we pretend to be these phones online, that everyone thinks they know what it looks like.

The Pixel 3 XL is a large phone with a slotted screen like the iPhone XS and OnePlus 6; the smaller Pixel 3 has no notch, but the upper and lower borders of the screen.

We expect both phones to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processors. The larger one would have a resolution of 2,960 out of 1,440; the smallest would be closer to 2,260 by 1,080. They will have simple rear cameras, but probably very good. The biggest phone will have a pressure sensor like the Pixel 2 did.

Pixelbook 2 AKA Pixel Slate

The next version of Google Pixelbook will try to shade the lines between Android tablet, Chrome tablet and Chromebook. The "Pixel Slate" (at least that's what 9to5Google calls it) will be a convertible tablet / laptop running an Intel Amber Lake i7 processor, with 8GB or 16GB or RAM and a 3,000 screen out of 2,000.

This very firm statement goes against many other rumors that surfaced in September, including the fact that Google would have two devices, at least one of them being a traditional form factor laptop with an Intel Kaby Lake processor. That said, we think the most recent 9to5 story is probably about money.

Google Home Hub

Until now, Google has let others create smart screens associated with Google Assistant. We reviewed the Lenovo and JBL versions of the idea. Google Home Hub, which looks like a white or gray tablet on a cloth rack, is about to join these partnerships.

Google leaves room for its partners by keeping this screen at 7 inches, which is smaller than the Lenovo Smart Display.. This will also keep the price very low; Rumor has it that it's as little as $ 149. And that cuts the Amazon Echo Show by $ 70.

The rumor of 9to5Google contains all the details and all the images.

New Chromecast

So, apparently, this guy on Reddit managed to buy a new Chromecast at Best Buy because of a sourcing error, according to BGR. Now we know what that does.

The new Chromecast is a bit thicker than the previous one and removes the magnetic HDMI connector. The T3 indicates it has a faster 5GHz Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth LE and hooks to the MicroUSB charging port.

A question that arises is whether the Chromecast will be able to use a physical remote; can you use it without your phone? Rumors contradict each other at this stage.

New Google Home, Mini and Max

There is not much of an updated lineup of Google Home devices. Google has announced a new color for the Google Home Mini, aqua, which corresponds to a new color "mint" supposed for the Pixel 3, which could indicate that we should not expect a major overhaul .

However, Google's main range of smart speakers has been around for a year and it may be time to update the design. For example, Google Home can adopt a fully fabric-covered design to match the appearance of the new home hub.
