Google adds Compose integrations to trigger actions in Gmail

[ad_1]

G Suite officially launches Compose actions in Gmail add-ons, a feature that aims to simplify access to the most common business applications when writing a message in Gmail. At launch, Compose shares integrate with Dropbox, Atlassian, Box and Egnyte.

Gmail add-ons were introduced for the first time a year ago as a framework for developers to integrate their business applications directly into Gmail. With Compose connectors, administrators can add a button at the bottom of the compose window that links directly to content stored in third-party applications.

"Research shows that workers spend up to eight hours a week researching or consolidating information," Aakash Sahney, product manager of the Gmail and Chat platform, said in a blog post. . "Compound Actions make it easy to add attachments, reference references, or animate your messages with the content of your favorite third-party applications as soon as you write your message in Gmail."

For example, the Dropbox add-in for Gmail allows users to share Dropbox links as well as back up files to their Dropbox account directly from Gmail. The Atlassian Cloud add-on allows users to perform actions directly from a message in Gmail when a Jira or Bitbucket link is present in an email.

At the same time, the Box Add-On is designed to make it easy to send attachments to emails by terminating the download process and attaching files. It sends them directly to Gmail directly via the box account of a user. The Egnyte Contestant for the Box add-on allows users to save attachments in Egyn as well as link Egnyte files and folders from the Gmail compose window.

The composition actions can be installed from today in the G Suite market. G Suite administrators can install them for their entire domain or add them to their whitelist.
