This is not the first time we hear about Apple's plan to adopt USB-C instead of Lightning on its new iPad Pro models, which would further bridge the gap between mobile devices computers.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who often accurately predicts Apple's plans, said in September that Apple's iPad Pro 2018 models will use USB-C instead of Lightning. USB-C connectivity will allow new features, such as the ability to connect an iPad Pro to a 4K monitor.
Mac Otakara also indicates that manufacturers attending the event were showing a photo of the dimensions of the 2018 Pro iPad that had been shared for the first time on Slashleaks last week.
This image, which is supposed to be based on measurements taken by the case manufacturers, suggests that the smallest iPad Pro model will have a width of 178.52 mm (7 inches) and a height of 247.64 mm (9.7 inches) , while the larger model will have a width of 215 mm and 11 inches in height (280.66 mm). Both models can have frames that measure all sides to 6mm, and at least one model can be as thin as 5.9mm.
According to rumors, Apple's new iPad Pro models incorporate a TrueDepth camera system for face recognition and the absence of home button. The new devices are expected to debut on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at an event that Apple plans to hold in Brooklyn, NY state.
