In order not to be left behind by his little brother, the Altima, which has recently been redesigned, the Nissan Maxima sedan will be updated for 2019. The changes to the Maxima do not are not so important; This mid-cycle refresh consists mainly of a new style and new technological features. More details will be unveiled at the upcoming Los Angeles auto show next month, but here's what we know so far.
The new look of the 2019 Maxima starts with a new front design with revised headlights with LED accents. The Nissan Vmotion grille is more pronounced and the lower bumper has also been redone. We have not seen the back of the car yet, but we assume that it includes updates to the taillights and the dashboard. New wheel options will surely be on the menu.
Inside, Nissan will likely make changes to the infotainment system of the Maxima, so that it matches the more modern unit of the Altima 2019. Nissan also states that the Maxima will offer a more comprehensive suite of active safety features, which it incorporates into a set called Safety Shield 360. This should mean that the 2019 Maxima will come with Blind Spot Monitoring, automated systems and more. emergency front and back. braking, lane departure warning and automatic high beam as standard equipment. Most of these features are optional on the current Maxima.
We anticipate no significant mechanical changes to the 2019 Maxima, which is expected to continue to offer a 3.5-liter V6 engine and a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) as the only powertrain option. The V-6 will distinguish the Maxima now that the Altima has switched to a turbocharged four-cylinder engine as an evolutionary engine. It is possible that Nissan will add an all-wheel drive option to the Maxima lineup to match the Altima, which now offers this transmission with its 2.5-liter four-cylinder base engine.
Nissan will unveil the 2019 Maxima next month at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. We will therefore update this message with more official information as soon as they are available.
