Ubisoft has announced that Bayek, the main protagonist of Assassin's Creed Origins, is now available as a legendary lieutenant of Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It is available as a Ubisoft Club Reward and costs 40 units.
In Odyssey, lieutenants can be assigned to sail with Kassandra / Alexios on their ship, Adrestia. Assigned lieutenants provide certain benefits for naval combat, speak to the crew of Adrestia when the ship is docked and join Kassandra / Alexios when boarding enemy ships. The strength of a lieutenant's benefits and the amount of damage they can cause in combat are determined by their rarity. Legendary is the strongest level, followed by Epic, Rare, and then Common.
Lieutenants can also serve another purpose. In the Odyssey skill tree – under the Stealth branch – there is a capability called "Call to Arms". The equipment and the use of this skill allow Kassandra / Alexios to summon one of their lieutenants on the mainland. At its lowest level, this skill will ensure that summoned lieutenants distract their enemies so that Kassandra / Alexios is not detected. At the strongest, the summoned lieutenants will kill the enemies.
Bayek is not the first protagonist of a previous Assassin's Creed game to be a lieutenant of Odyssey. Evie, one of the protagonists of Assassin's Creed Syndicate, is also available as a reward from the Ubisoft Club. She too is a legendary lieutenant and she increases javelin damage by 9%, fire javelin by 15% and, when Adrestia is in poor health, 18% all damage done. She uses a spear in battle. If you upgrade the Adrestia, you can assign multiple lieutenants and navigate with both Evie and Bayek.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
