Mopar Crate Engine SEMA Teaser

Something big comes from Mopar and they will unveil it at SEMA 2018. If we trust this awesome trailer of scalded paw prints that are stifled by something much bigger, it could be the return from a legend. The legs are probably the Hellcat and it seems that the biggest products that crush them is an elephant.

It looks like elephant feet have smothered the feet of the Hellcat.

Then, the roaring sound of a V8 is built as a white charger enters the frame and turns on the burnout. The video ends with the phrase "Something big is coming". Could it be the return of the 426 (7.0L) Elephant HEMI? This could possibly be a derivative of the NHRA Factory Stock class engine, the assembly of which you can see here! They keep silent until SEMA, so we have to wait and see.

Gee, one wonders what engine is in this old charger?

The story of the 426's birth is very interesting and fun. Although it was like a baby learning to walk, he quickly found his pace and dominated the racing world for decades. Click here to read Elana Scherr's very detailed story full of historical anecdotes and archival footage from Chrysler.
