Alienware Area-51 Threadripper Edition Supports 2950X and 2920X Processors

Dell extends its AMD hardware offering to its flagship Area-51 gaming system to include more first- and second-generation Threadripper processors. The new Alienware Area-51 R7 Threadripper Edition systems will feature an option of three upscale AMD processors with up to 16 cores, a liquid cooling and options for them. latest AMD and Nvidia graphics.

Alienware Area-51 systems have impressed us for years. They may be expensive, but they offer the most powerful contemporary hardware in a single, unobtrusive chassis. The new R7 Threadripper Edition systems will not be different. When they go on sale on November 8, potential customers will have the choice between the 16-core Threadripper 2950X, the 12-core 2920X or the eight-core, first-generation 1900X. Each will be installed on an Alienware ATX X399 motherboard in its second-generation Triad enclosure.

While Alienware is promoting the system to players, its marketing recognizes that Threadripper excels in multitasking and high-level professional tasks. Pure and high-end players may want to opt for an Intel Core i9-9900K processor, but for those who want to work and play, Threadripper chips are also an excellent choice.

Each processor will be fully water cooled for quiet operation and improved overclocking potential, and will be paired with the graphics card required by the user. The options start as low as a GTX 1050 Ti and cover the entire range of not less than 1080 Ti. There are also options for liquid-cooled variants and a choice of RTX Turing cards, including the 2070, 2080 and 2080 Ti cards.
