We’ve known the Nintendo Switch was going to be a big seller from the day it launched, with Nintendo reporting soon afterwards it was the company’s fastest-selling console. Those strong sales continue and the latest victim is Nintendo’s sixth-generation games console, the GameCube.

Over its lifetime between 2001-2007, the GameCube managed to sell a very respectable 21.74 million units. The Switch just beat that in 19 months, with the latest sales figures from Nintendo confirming its hybrid console has now sold 22.86 million units. Total software sales reached 111 million units.

As Engadget reports, Nintendo’s latest revenue report shows steady growth. In the last quarter, revenue grew to $1.96 billion compared to $1.95 billion for the same period last year. Profit reached $274 million, which is a big improvement over last year’s $211 million. And of course, the Switch played a big role in generating that profit.

For the same quarter in 2017, Nintendo sold 2.93 million Switch. This year, that total increased to 3.19 million. It’s a small amount of growth, but you do have to consider it’s for a quarter that’s usually quiet in the gaming sector. Nintendo didn’t really have any major new releases during this period, either, with Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and a Labo Vehicle Kit being the only first-party highlights.

For the holidays, the Switch is sure to enjoy a huge boost in sales thanks to the game releases Nintendo has planned. First up, we have Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee and Let’s Go, Pikachu! on Nov. 16, which is followed on Dec. 7 by the system seller that is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With Nintendo enjoying over three million Switch sales in the relatively quiet last quarter, by the time the console’s second birthday arrives in March we could be looking at a sales total very close to 30 million units.
