Destiny 2Bungie

Destiny 2 Players have long been waiting for today's big update, which brings about changes such as a less exotic exotic dump system (now focused on things you do not have) and more leader cores. (now "upgrading cores" as bonuses).

But most players were waiting for this series of "Murder Mystery" quests promised as part of Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost, an attempt to discover who had killed Master Ives, the former Cryptarch of the reef.

Players who check today with Amanda Holiday have been greeted not by a quest but by a quest step. The pitch is a yellow chase, which means we're definitely on the trail of an exotic when all is said and done, and it's probably Thunderlord, according to recent leaks and datamining. But what became apparent in the first five minutes of the reset is that this quest is planned.

The first step is strangely easy. I understand that this is an event that anyone can participate in, regardless of the power level or skills, and I'm not a fan of crazy exotic quests, but it was … strange to say the least.

The first step is to collect Master Ives journal pages, pages that you can get either by decrypting legendary or exotic engrams, or by killing some "mighty" Fallen in the EDZ area.

In the normal course of the game you should accumulate this amount of engram fairly quickly, but there are two ways to complete this step almost instantly. There is an easy way, and a really easy way.

  1. The simplest, but inexpensive way is simply to buy legendary engrams from unmassed Cryptarch, Master Rahool. But that will make you run over 250 fragments for the ten pages. I do not really care about spending that much when I'm 4,500 right now, I have nothing to spend, and yet there is a way to do it even easier.
  2. Just go to the EDZ and participate in a public heroic sparkling event, which appears in the starting area every five minutes or so. I have tried to exploit lost bosses from the sector of lost sectors, but that does not work. I think the pages only fall from the orange bar's enemies, not the yellow bars, and there's a ton in this public event. I have completed this entire stage of the quest even before the event is over. Absurd.

After that? We come up against a time when you have to "check with Amanda" when she will get more information. Logic would like this to happen in a week or tomorrow. Usually this stuff make weeks, but as Halloween is tomorrow, I hope to have an accelerated schedule for this quest. I should imagine that this would end before the Festival of the Lost, which ends on November 6th, just in a week. So yes, I checked every day.

The first day is a bit disappointing for players who thought we were going to have a real quest with real goals, vocal work, challenges, and so on. Instead, we can do something in less than five minutes even if you do not cash it with engram purchases. Pretty weird.

I imagine that the other steps will be more complicated than that and that we will have a real mission at a given moment and that this will not consist simply of collecting data. But I do not expect this quest to be extraordinarily difficult if it starts with such fluff. But who knows?

So uh, get these pages I guess? See you tomorrow, hopefully, for new information.
