In addition to the previous history and visual identity of the company via design, Samsung has been happy enough to make fun of the notch of recently announced Pixel 3 models ("You could land a plane on board. [the notch]"). The Galaxy S10 is expected to offer a number of new features that will allow the South Korean company to get out of its iterative approach with a new look for the Galaxy S10.
Doing nothing less, with a giant screen and all the existing technology would be an important statement to make when launching the flagship product of the S10 in early 2019.
