As we could expect after a 40-minute presentation, the new Nintendo Direct focused on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was a big project. It contained a ton of information about the game, and among the most important elements were the last members of the list. We now know all the people that will be available the day of the release and, as you probably guess, the range will only grow after the launch via DLC. But even that is not as simple as you would have thought.
The Direct started with the revelation of two new characters. Street Fighter, Ken is an echo hunter of Ryu but he is faster and has some points of distinction. Pokemon Incineroar also joins the complete list of Ultimate characters and offers a range of movements inspired by professional wrestling.
Although the video indicates that these two characters complete the final list of 74 members, it has not taken long for this to be the case. Later in the stream, it was confirmed that the DLC characters are on the way, and that it will not be echo fighters. The work has not started yet, so we will see these new characters added throughout February 2020.
Nintendo has planned five DLC fighters in total, each being sold in a batch with a new stage and music for $ 6 in the United States. There will also be a $ 25 package called the Fighter Pass that will allow you to get all five. In addition to a small discount on individual purchase, the fighters' pass entitles you to a gambling outfit based on the protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Rex.
But even that still did not represent all the news of the character we had. As a pre-order bonus, another fighter will be available: Piranha Plant. By purchasing the game numerically or physically (in this case, you must register the game card online) by the end of January 31, 2019, you will have access to the character for free as soon as it is ready "by" February 2019.
