Nintendo Switch will download a YouTube app next week

The Nintendo Switch is an excellent portable handheld, even more complete with the assortment of games on offer. All that's really missing, at least for some homeowners, is the ability to turn the device into an excellent portable media player like the Nintendo DS system. It may be long, but Nintendo could take a step forward with the expected arrival of a YouTube application on the Switch in the coming days. At least on the basis of a leak.

This is not a possibility quite far away. Nintendo has at least suggested giving the switch streaming media capabilities at least even if it does not support playback of local music and video files. In fact, the Switch already has a Hulu app, but, big as Hulu is, it's not exactly the biggest on the market. At least, not compared to YouTube or Netflix.

The latter remains a long-time wish, but according to a post on the forum ResetEra, the first will be a reality before the end of the week. A very simple screenshot of an entry for a YouTube application has been posted, including a note stating that it will be released on Thursday, November 8th.

With something as simple as that, it's not entirely out of the question that the image is a hoax designed to move the hearts of switch owners. But, again, it's something that should happen sooner or later. All we can hope for is that it will happen sooner.
