A Grand Theft Auto feature film is in preparation and has already begun production through the British company Salon Pictures and Broken Habits director Rob Ryan, according to Screen Daily.

titled The game of billions of dollars, the project will be presented to buyers at the American Film Market next month. In the meantime, the filming of the project has already begun and will include new interview sequences as well as archive footage.

Annabel Wigoder and Nick Taussig of Salon have been named producers, while Jan Pace and James Atherton of Quickfire Films finance company will assume the role of executive producers, as well as Cora Palfrey of Independent.

As Screen Daily notes, Rob Ryan's career includes several documentaries, as well as commercials. His last project, Broken Habits, was on a convent of sisters cultivating weeds.

Further details on the project have not been disclosed, but judging by the sound, the documentary will detail the rise of the series towards one of the most valuable intellectual property rights among all the hobbies.

As you may know, this is not the first time mainstream media has crossed paths Grand Theft Auto and Rockstar Games. There was also the unique drama of the BBC, The gamechangers, which featured Daniel Radcliffe as Sam Houser, co-founder of Rockstar.

The show described the story of the controversy sparked by the criminal video game series, including various external attempts to produce half the game.

More specifically, it was mainly the legal quarrel between Sam Houser (Daniel Radcliffe) and lawyer Jack Thompson (Bill Paxton) for GTA, and the debate around the violent video games that had engulfed him at the time and continues to this day.

At the time of writing this article, Rockstar has not provided any official statement regarding this project. Of course, we will update this post if this statement or comment is provided.

The rise in Grand Theft Auto and Rockstar Games is certainly interesting, and given the discretion of the latter, this is not the best documented story in video games. Therefore, it might be interesting to see the games, their developers and the main actors in the background, while the popularity of it was very high.
