After some uncertainties, Telltale Games closes definitively

The game is over for Telltale Games, which is completely dissolving. A representative of the consulting firm Sherwood Partners told GameDaily.biz that she was managing the liquidation of the company, while a former employee said that legally mandated COBRA health insurance ends on November 30.

Telltale is now in the process of being sold, which, according to the site, is different from the bankruptcy procedure but essentially results in the same result: a sale of the assets of the company, the funds collected being returned to the creditors. An attorney stated on the website that such proceedings usually involved prior consultation with these creditors to ensure they were on board, suggesting that the process could be completed fairly quickly.

It should also be noted that Telltale CEO Pete Hawley, who said shortly after the "closure of the majority" that marked the beginning of the end of the operation of the studio, has deleted his Twitter account. His LinkedIn profile indicates that his term as CEO ended this month.

This may or may not be related to the impending liquidation, but Telltale's Jurtic Park: The Game, Tales of Monkey Island and Back to the Future: The Game have been removed from Steam. Owners can still download them, but they remain available on other platforms, including GOG, the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Marketplace.

The Telltale Mission Agreement is available in full on GameDaily.biz.
