Aker's tiny USB-C 27W brick looks like the future of the charge we've been promised

Anker has been a leader in cheap and reliable USB-C cables for years, but at its press conference in New York, the company may have just changed the game with the new block. Powerport Atom PD 1. Anker explains that the difference with the Atom series of chargers is the use of gallium nitride (GaN) components on silicon, which, according to the company, has resulted in increased efficiency and greatly reduced size. The company also indicates that the Atom PD 1 will be the first of a range of Atom chargers, with a 60W PowerPort Atom PD 2 charger, two USB-C ports and a 100W four-port port (two USB-C and two USB Type-A). The PorwerPort Atom PD 4 also arrives.

According to the company, the Atom PD 1 is one of the smallest USB-C chargers of this power class. Its official dimensions are 1.61 x 1.37 x 1.49 inches, with a weight of 2.2 ounces. The end result is almost as powerful as the 30W USB-C PD brick sold by Anker for some time. Where the old brick was the size, for example, Apple's MacBook chargers, the new Powerport Atom PD 1 significantly reduces costs while providing roughly the same power.

And 27W with the USB-C PD specification is not left out; That's enough to completely power a smartphone or USB-C accessory, more energy-hungry devices like the Nintendo switch, and even smaller laptops like Apple's 12-inch MacBook.
