All new products to wait

Google's next major press event is scheduled for October 9 in New York. And while we can almost guarantee that the show will produce new Pixel smartphones, there is still much speculation about what the technology giant might reveal.

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

This is the easiest way to predict, based on nearly a year of rumors and Google's own teasing.

The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL should run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor and offer enhanced cameras to keep Google's smartphones at the top of the smartphone stack. According to reports, one can expect 4GB of RAM in smartphones and Google apparently would have decided to stick to a storage of 64 or 128 GB.

You should also expect Google to continue using the Active Edge feature deployed on Pixel 2, which you can use to launch Google Assistant by tapping the phone.

In terms of design, the new Pixel 3 could look a little different. The smaller of the two, the Pixel 3, should have a traditional smartphone design with glasses all around. According to some reports, it could offer a 5.5-inch display, but two front-facing cameras to complement its single-lens camera at the back.

The Pixel 3 XL has been the subject of many leaks in recent weeks and will offer a larger screen size of up to 6.7 inches, according to reports. It will probably have a notch design and will drop the physical buttons on the front. We should also expect two cameras at the back.

The long awaited pixel slate?

According to several rumors, Google is working on a new detachable device 2 in 1 called Pixel Slate. And while we know too much, most industry observers believe the system will work in Chrome OS.

Google Home Hub
