As the month of October is already in full swing, the Google media event is only days away. Next week, Google is expected to unveil a host of exciting new materials, including new Pixel line updates, refitted tablets, etc., which will take place Oct. 9 in New York City. While Apple dominated the technical information cycle in September with the launch of its 2018 iPhone lineup, it is now time for Google to stand out.
That said, we have compiled a list of all that the search giant should unveil at next week's event. Although there is nothing revolutionary on the agenda, rumors of the rumor factory suggest that we will see welcome improvements in some already remarkable products.
Pixel Smartphones
The Android landscape can often be a confusing mess, and to tell the truth, some smartphone vendors are changing Android so that the user experience is negatively affected. In light of this, in 2016, Google launched its own smartphone with Pixel, a device that, like Apple, merges custom hardware with Google's custom software. As Google pointed out at the time: "We have now decided to move to the next step and offer the best Google experience possible, by bringing together hardware and software design under one roof."
A few years later, Google is about to introduce its 2018 Pixel line, a range that will include the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL. So what can we expect? Well, thanks to an apparently infinite number of leaks, we do not know many things.
The Pixel 3 would feature a 5.5-inch screen, a Snapdragon 845 processor, a 12.2-megapixel rear camera, two front-facing cameras (supposed to offer better selfies), 4GB of memory, and apparently would be available in 64GB. Configurations of 128GB. Naturally, the device will use Android 9 Pie and will feature the same fingerprint sensor at l & # 39; back.
A supposed leak of Pixel 3 can be seen below.
The Pixel 3 XL would feature a 6.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 × 2960, a matte-finished glass bottom and a loading support wireless. It's especially interesting to note that the Pixel 3 XL leaks showed a device with a notched design, such as the iPhone X. This should not be so surprising, since Google has specific guidelines on how of which Android P should support notch design. Incidentally, the design will always have a "chin" and will not be as meaningless as the iPhone X. In terms of the camera, the Pixel 3 XL would be no different than the Pixel 3.
We have also seen rumors that the Pixel 3 XL will come bundled with Pixel Buds.
The pre-orders Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL should open on October 9, immediately after the event. As for pricing, we've seen reports claiming that Pixel 3 would cost $ 649, while Pixel 3 XL would cost $ 749. If this is true, both models would be cheaper than the Apple iPhone XS, which starts at $ 999.
Weak rumors have also reported vague rumors that Google could launch a mid-range Pixel smartphone, although we did not expect much to hear about it in the next week.
Google Pixel Slate
The word of the existence of Pixel Slate – a Chrome OS hybrid tablet – appeared last month. The device would apparently include a fingerprint sensor and a leaked marketing image (allegedly) can be seen below. In addition, according to rumors, the device would benefit from the same resolution as Google Pixelbook, include a USB-C port and have memory configurations of 8 GB and 16 GB. Details about the release date of Pixel Slate and prices have not yet been released. So we will probably have to wait for the official Google event to find out more.
Pixel stand
Not many details here, but there have been scattered reports that Google will introduce a new wireless charger called Pixel Stand next week. Let's hope that, unlike Apple, this one will really see the day.
Other surprises
Other items we could see on Google include a new generation Chromecast and a Smart TV kit including a Chromecast and a Google Home Mini (and has leaked several times in recent days).
