Anker unveils 27-watt miniature USB-C charger, high-end smart speaker and pocket-sized cinema

Anker has announced several new hardware devices at an event in New York today. Recognized for its quality mobile charging accessories, the company has continued its expansion into other consumer electronics markets by unveiling a pocket cinema, a high-end smart speaker and a new range of tiny USB wall chargers. -C.

Starting with chargers, the PowerPort Atom PD 1 is the smallest 27-watt USB-C power supply proposed by Anker to date. It's about the size of the 5-watt charger that comes with an iPhone, but provides enough juice to power larger devices, such as a 12-inch MacBook, a Chromebook, and a Nintendo switch.

Anker said it used gallium nitride components in the charger instead of silicon, which allowed the company to maximize its efficiency while minimizing its size. The PowerPort Atom PD 1 weighs 2.2 ounces and fits in the palm of the hand, measuring 1.61 x 1.37 x 1.49 inches. The PD 1 is only the first in the Atom range, with a 60-watt USB-C PD port for two charger and a four-port 100-watt PD 4 charger (2x USB-C, 2x USB-A) also on the road.

The Anker PowerPort Atom PD 1 will be available exclusively on the Amazon website from the end of November for $ 30.

At the same time, Anker announced the Soundcore Model Zero +, a new smart Bluetooth and Wi-Fi speaker with a unique design, similar to a radial handbag, with a built-in handle. It's Anker's first portable speaker to integrate integrated Dolby audio, as well as drivers designed by Scan-Speak for optimal audio performance.

The Model Zero + speaker is provided with Google Assistant and also supports Google Chromecast for streaming media content directly from mobile devices and computers. The unit offers 10 hours of streaming autonomy via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and will cost $ 250.

A more affordable $ 200 version of the speaker called the Zero Model has also been announced. It has fewer features but a longer life of the battery. Both units will be available at select retailers starting at the end of next month.

Anker also unveiled the Nebula Capsule II, a new generation pocket cinema with integrated Android TV. The cylindrical unit of the size of a soda can projects a 1280 x 720 resolution screen on the walls and performs autofocus in about one second.

According to Anker, the Nebule Capsule II will offer up to three hours of video playback or 30 hours of Bluetooth audio output on a single charge. It also supports Google Assistant and can be loaded in about two and a half hours using the included USB-C charger.

The Nebula Capsule II campaign is a campaign launched on Kickstarter and will be available to first users. It will be shipped early 2019. Super Early Bird fans can order the pocket cinema for $ 349, while other levels cost $ 369 or $ 399.

Finally, Anker today announced a security camera for the home under the Eufy brand. The wireless camera offers a year of battery life and includes facial recognition, battery backup of the base station, free local storage. The price and the release date have not been announced yet.
