Dodge unveiled the 2019 Challenger lineup yesterday and now the company has revealed that the Redeye Hellcat will cost $ 69,650.
Price $ 15,345 less than the SRT Demon Challenger, the Redeye Hellcat features a number of the same high performance changes. In particular, the 6.2-liter V8 engine of the car is equipped with a 2.7-liter compressor, an improved injection system and reinforced pistons. These changes allow the plant to produce 797 hp (594 kW / 808 hp) and 707 lb-ft (957 Nm) of torque.
The Redeye Hellcat is offered exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission and allows the coupe to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km / h) in 3.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 203 mph (326 km / h). Dodge also claims the model is the "fastest grand touring production car" because it can travel the quarter mile in 10.8 seconds at a speed of 210 km / h (131 mph).
While the Redeye is the star of the show, the standard SRT Hellcat Challenger simply becomes a lot more affordable. Dodge has reduced the price by more than $ 5,000 and the Hellcat now starts at $ 58,650. Despite lower prices, the car has an improved engine that produces 717 hp (534 kW / 727 hp) and 656 lb-ft (888 Nm) of torque.
Now that fun things are out of the way, let's start at the beginning. The entry-level Challenger SXT RWD is priced at $ 27,295 and features a 3.6-liter V6 engine developing 305 hp (227 kW / 309 hp) and a 268-horsepower torque. lb-ft (363 Nm). The car can also be equipped with a four-wheel drive for an additional $ 3,000.
For 2019, there is a new Challenger GT RWD that costs $ 29,995. The model comes standard with a Super Track Pak that includes a performance suspension, a sportier hood and a front splitter. The set also includes Houndstooth fabric seats, steering wheel-mounted shift paddles (on automatic models) and 20-inch painted granite wheels. The GT is powered by the aforementioned V6 engine and all-wheel drive is optional.
The best way to get behind the wheel of a V8 is to order a Challenger R / T starting at $ 34,100. It has a 5.7-liter HEMI producing up to 375 horsepower (280 kW / 380 PS) and 410 lb-ft (555 Nm) of torque.
Buyers who have Hellcat dreams and R / T budgets will want to check out the Challenger R / T Scat Pack. Prices start at $ 38,995, but opting for the manual transmission results in a gas tax of $ 1,000. It's unfortunate, but the model is endowed with a 6.4-liter V8 developing 485 horsepower (361 kW / 491 hp) and a torque of 473 Nm.
