Apple Event October 2018: what to expect

Apple may have announced a series of new hardware in September, but the Cupertino company has not finished yet: Apple is organizing a second event on Tuesday, October 30, during which it is expected to announce a new iPad, a MacBook Air put up to date, etc. .

Here are all we expect to see:

New iPad

The main star of Tuesday's event should be a pair of new iPad Pro, which are being completely merged with a new design. This is the iPad equivalent of the jump made by Apple with the iPhone X last year.

The new iPad Pros would have new on-board displays similar to Apple's newer iPhones, removing the Home button / Touch ID sensor button instead of dragging the navigation gesture and the face scanner. In addition, Apple would switch from its proprietary light port to USB-C, which would let the new iPad Pro share the chargers and accessories with the Apple laptop (and leave the iPhone as the only device Apple laptop blocked on Lightning). .

In addition to larger hardware changes, Apple should also upgrade the internal hardware of the new iPad Pro by upgrading the processor to a new version of the recently released Apple A12 Bionic chipset. And in what would be a first for the company, it adds a custom Apple graphics chip.

A successor of MacBook Air

Since 2015, Apple has not updated the MacBook Air functionally, leaving fans of the ultralight laptop in an outdated agony while Apple has drawn its attention to the MacBook 12 inches and MacBook Pro laptops updated. But that should change Tuesday with the expected announcement of a new MacBook Air.

It is said that the new Air Heir retains the same 13-inch screen size as the current Air, but at a much higher resolution and with thinner frames, with a bump of specs much needed. (The current Air offers an Intel processor dating from 2015 and comically outdated.)
