Here's everything you need to know about iOS 12.0.1 …
Who is it for?
iOS 12.0.1 runs on all iOS 11 compatible devices for which Apple deserves great credit. This means that the iPhone 5S or later, the iPad mini 2 or later and the 6th generation iPod touch or later.
If your device is compatible, you should be prompted automatically to upgrade. Otherwise, you can trigger it manually by accessing Settings> General> Software Update. Apple iOS 12.1 beta testers (later), you must Unwind your device for the update to appear.
The size of each iOS update varies (it depends on your device and the version of iOS from which you are upgrading). As a "minor" upgrade, iOS 12.0.1 is pretty modest at around 100GB but its patches are important.
The Deal Breakers
Jailbreakers, yes all five, you always do it, iOS 12.0.1 will break it, stay away until your jailbreak software of choice catches up. At the current pace of progress, however, it could take months.
With regard to the first issues, yes, there are a few. Some report the load fix (more details in the next section) does not workalthough for the most part it does. the potentially embarrassing iMessages bug again s & # 39; lingers, as well as Bluetooth connectivity issues, both for finding devices and maintaining a connection (1,2,3,4,5). There are also isolated reports of Touch ID, and Wireless performance.
As far as battery life is concerned, yes there are some complaints (1,2,3) but before you start, wait reindex to finish.

- Fixes an issue that prevented some iPhone XS devices from charging immediately when they were connected to a Lightning cable
- Fixes a problem that could cause iPhone XS devices to join a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network instead of 5 GHz
- Restores the original position of the ".123" key on the iPad keyboard
- Fixes a problem where subtitles may not appear in some video applications
- Fixes an issue where Bluetooth might become unavailable
Of these, the charge was by far the biggest problem and it seems to work for the most part (otherwise all) users concerned. The same can be said about the Bluetooth and WiFi patches that the above complaints show are not a slam dunk.
On the positive side, Apple's decision to reposition the ". 123 "on the keyboard of the iPad had proved extremely unpopular, so the return is welcome.
IOS 12.0.1 seems to ignore the issues related to current iOS 12. Problems Displaying on the iPhone X, speakers carving and IMessage conversation merge. But it takes longer to evaluate this, because Apple often includes fixes that it chooses not to list (ie, attract attention) in the release notes.
As for security, Apple official security page contains two important fixes for VoiceOver and QuickLook in which a hacker could potentially display photos and contacts and share them from the lockscreen.
Apple iOS 12.0.1 Verdict: Installation (in a week)
If you have an iPhone affected by the IOS 12 loading problem, or the new keyboard layout of the iPad was driving you crazy, so jumping on iOS 12.0.1 is obvious. For all others, I would suggest caution.
There are no new features, and so far only a very small percentage of the user base has been upgraded, but there are already enough bugs to suggest Wait a week and let others do experiments with their devices is the smart solution.

As I mentioned at the beginning, Apple is currently testing the 12.1 beta version. This is a more substantial update that adds to the Group FaceTime chat (with support for up to 32 people!) And many new emojis. However, do not expect it to land another month, and a smaller version of iOS 12.0.2 should be released beforehand.
