iOS 12.1 has landed and it's

As shown in the video below by security researcher Jose Rodriguez, the hacker simply calls your iPhone from another iPhone. Once connected, the call is turned into a FaceTime video call and press the "Add Person" button on the target iPhone. This displays the complete contact list of the device and the use of the 3D Touch shortcut on any contact reveals additional data such as their phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and so on.
The vulnerability is specific to iOS 12.1 since it does not work on any other version of IOS. Ironically, it mainly concerns premium iPhones, because cheaper models, such as iPhone XR and iPhone SE, do not have 3D Touch.
But the biggest concern is the speed with which this hacking has been discovered.
Apple likes to promote its devices as offering the best security in the industry, but this hacking is far from unique. Rodriguez has found up to now simple lockscreen workarounds in all versions of iOS 12, including two in iOS 12 (1,2) and another under iOS 12.0.1 (link) before hacking iOS 12.1 today.
As for the other iOS 12.1 issue, owners of iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X may want to look away now.
Despite Apple promising the owners of these phones last year that they would not be subject to the same controversial performance limitation As the company applies to older iPhone, iOS 12.1 introduced it for all three models.
