Apple announced today the launch of its new Entrepreneur Camp, designed to create new opportunities for enterprise-led and women-led businesses.

Camp Entrepreneur offers an intensive technology lab, specialized support for application developers and ongoing mentorship.

"Apple is committed to helping more women take on leadership roles in the technology sector and beyond," said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. "We are proud to help develop female leadership in the app development community with the new Apple Entrepreneur Camp, and we are inspired by both the incredible work that is already underway and by this which will definitely happen. "

Apple says that to be eligible for the program, which now accepts apps, companies must be founded by women, co-founded or run and have at least one woman in the development team. A working application or prototype is needed, as is "the desire to exploit Apple's technologies and take advantage of their mission.

The inaugural session of Camp Entrepreneur is scheduled to begin in January 2019. The sessions will be held quarterly, with 20 application companies accepted for each round. The exception is the pilot phase, which will be limited to 10 companies.

After being accepted into the program, companies will be able to send three employees to Cupertino, home of Apple's two best-known campuses, Infinite Loop and Apple Park.

This immersive two-week program will include one-on-one code-level support with Apple engineers, sessions on design, technology and App Store marketing, access to an alumni forum for peer mentoring, and ongoing support from Apple.

Participating companies will also receive two tickets for the next year's Global Developer Conference, as well as one year of free membership in the Apple Developer Program.
