Apple Store in Santa Rosa Plaza stolen again

Police arrested a person suspected of stealing goods Sunday afternoon at the Apple Plaza Santa Rosa store, which was hit last month by a group of thieves.

The suspect, who was not identified, reportedly acted with several other people, said the Santa Rosa police sergeant. Kyle Philp. Philp said the theft is currently being investigated by the property crime unit of the police department.

"We are still waiting for Apple to provide us with a list of items taken," he said.

Hooded thieves captured on a surveillance video took more than $ 35,000 worth of merchandise to the same store on August 29, while employees and other customers were standing there. Philp said the police are working on getting surveillance videos in the last flight.

Police said in a statement that shortly after 1 pm Sunday, "several thieves entered the Apple Store at the Santa Rosa Plaza shopping center and fled with several devices."

The father of an employee of the Apple Store, who asked for his name, will not be detained because he does not want to compromise the work of his daughter. He worries about his safety because of repeated thefts in the store.

In the robbery of August 29, the suspects were seen in the surveillance video by sliding the Apple merchandise in just over 20 seconds, pulling the models out of their fasteners.

One of the culprits even went back to pick up several objects that had fallen to the ground, right outside the door, while he was running away.

The case was similar to half a dozen fast flights like lightning to California's Apple stores in recent weeks, including incidents at Corte Madera, Walnut Creek, Roseville, Fresno, and Valencia. Thousand Oaks.

Thieves also hit the mobile phone stores. On August 20, three suspects hit T-Mobile stores in Santa Rosa and Petaluma, taking $ 10,000 worth of goods, including several mobile phones.

Two of the suspects, 26-year-old Tarell Armstrong and 27-year-old Joshua Green, both of Oakland, were arrested that day after police said they fled to a Petaluma neighborhood after a short, high-speed chase on McDowell Boulevard. But the third suspect escaped.
