Apple Stores in Canada accepting iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max reservations, pick up on launch day

If you live in Canada and have not yet ordered an iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max, you may be able to score one on the day of launch.

Apple has activated its reservation and pickup system in Canada, allowing customers to make an in-store reservation for an iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max at an Apple Store across the country, subject to availability.

The page often says that Apple "does not take reservations to buy an iPhone right now", but limited supplies are added every day, just how much the page becomes functional. In real time, the page allows you to book an iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max in the available colors and storage capacities.

The best part is that reservations are for Friday, September 21st, the day the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max will be launched in stores, so if you missed pre-orders from the middle of the night, it's a good second chance.

As stocks run out very quickly every time a reservation for iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max becomes available, the solution is to enable push notifications on the Robinhood Monitor account to receive real-time alerts. As soon as an extra stock is added, go to the Apple Booking page as soon as possible.

Placing a reservation allows you to take an iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max on an Apple Store in a 30-minute window. Apple recommends to bring a photo ID issued by the government for verification.

Note that the payment for the iPhone is not collected online in advance, but rather on arrival at the Apple Store for in-store pickup.

Last year, I used the reserve and pickup system to buy an iPhone X at the Eaton Center in Toronto, even though I did not place a preorder. So I can guarantee that it works. Another option is to wait until Friday, queue in an Apple Store and make a purchase, but the lines are often long and stocks are exhausted.

Another advantage of the reserve and collection system is that in some Apple Stores there is a queue dedicated to customers with reservations.

Unfortunately, the reserve and pickup system currently only works in Canada. The page was finally put online in Australia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom last year. It might be useful to keep an eye on these links. In the United States, the page simply states that reservations are no longer required.

The iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max are launching stores this Friday, Sept. 21, with most locations in Canada opening earlier at 8 pm local time.
