Apple is expected to introduce later this month two new models of iPad Pro formats 11 and 12.9 inches. The official unveiling is expected to take place at a special media event that could take place as early as next week. In terms of what we can expect, we have seen a lot of leaks about new generation Apple tablets in recent weeks.
As the fall of Apple is fast approaching, the number of leaks on the iPad Pro has only increased in recent days. More recently, Twitter user Quack quack – who already has some major leaks on his iPhone – confirmed that Apple's new iPads will not feature a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. What else, Quack quack disclosed interesting information on the dimensions of the iPad, noting that it will measure only 5.9 mm at its thickest point.
The tweet in question can be seen below.
Notably, the 5.9 mm figure aligns closely with a Slashleaks leak that resurfaced a few days ago. This particular leak required a thickness of 5.86 mm, but this figure might not take into account camera shocks. Anyway, Apple's new iPads are extremely thin. For comparison, the current iPad has a thickness of 7.5 mm while Apple iPad Pro models of 10.5 inches and 12.9 inches are respectively 6.1 mm and 6.9 mm.
However, it remains to be determined whether the 5.9 mm figure refers to both iPad models or, in a more likely scenario, to the smaller model.
It is also interesting to note that the glasses on the next iPad Pro models will apparently be very thin, as evidenced by the images below.
In recent years, it is clear that iPad sales tend to fall more often. With a new range of iPad on the horizon, Apple could see a sharp increase in sales during the upcoming holiday shopping season.
