Nearly two weeks after the release of watchOS 5, Apple released its first update for the portable operating system. WatchOS 5.0.1 does not bring any new functionality to Apple watches, but it corrects some issues related to exercise minutes, booth credit and billing that some users have been experiencing since upgrading the Watch software.

In watchOS 5, a "small number of users" reported an unjustified increase in the number of minutes of exercise, most likely in the activity rings of the Activity application. According to some online users, they have seen their green exercise ring fill up very quickly throughout the day, despite the time spent doing exercise or following the workouts. Conversely, some users did not receive Stand-by-Day credit, which meant that Watch did not recognize or register when users got up for half the day.

The third and last problem addressed in watchOS 5.0.1 is the one that prevents the recharge of Apple watches. Apple does not provide details on when or why this may have happened, but it is a serious problem that the company probably wanted to address before it affected too many users.

Some online users have reported that they were unable to load their watches when they were running watchOS 5, but a reset solved the problem. Other users who say their watches are too slow or too slow have seen longer loading times after updating watchOS 5.0.1.

Apple released watchOS 5 on September 17, before the official release date of the Apple Watch Series 4. Available for all watches except for the 1 series, watchOS 5 brings new features to notebooks and laptops. # 39; Apple. Support for shortcuts, etc. On the new 4 Series watches, watchOS 5 also includes a drop detection mount and will soon include Apple's ECG application to detect health issues associated with irregular heart rates, such as atrial fibrillation.

Users can download watchOS 5.0.1 by browsing General> Software Update in the Watch application of their iPhone. Apple watches must be connected to their chargers and have at least 50% battery to download the update.
