We’re approaching the midway point of November, which means Thanksgiving (in the US) and Black Friday 2018 is just over a week out. This year, Black Friday is November 23, but we’ve already gotten a number of early ads (which makes sense, with many retailers planning to offer their deals earlier in the week). That includes the Target Black Friday ad preview, letting you make plans for all of the video games, consoles, accessories, TVs, tablets, and other items you’ll to want to buy on the biggest shopping day of the year. You can find the full Target Black Friday ad here, but we’ve gone in and pulled out all of the gaming deals below. We’ve also highlighted Target’s best gaming deals.
A few video game items are listed as doorbusters in Target’s ad. For starters, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on both PS4 and Xbox One will be on sale for $45–not a bad discount for a game that just launched last month. Another recent game is getting an even bigger price drop; the starter pack for the toys-to-life space shooter Starlink: Battle for Atlas will be on sale for $40, down from $75.
In terms of hardware doorbusters, you’ll be able to get a PlayStation 4 Slim 1TB console with Spider-Man for $200 (for a savings of $100). Also $100 off is a PlayStation VR bundle that comes with the headset, camera, and two Move controllers, as well as copies of Superhot VR and Creed: Rise to Glory, all for $250.
Even many of the non-doorbuster discounts are much better than you’d see during normal sales. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey can be had for $35, while Shadow of the Tomb Raider is down to $30. Overwatch and Star Wars Battlefront 2 are down to just $15 each. A Nintendo Switch can be had for its usual price of $300 but with a free copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
In terms of exclusives, PS4 owners can grab God of War or Detroit: Become Human for $25 apiece. Xbox One players can pick up PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for $15, or Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4 for $35 each. Switch owners can get Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy or Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle for $25 each.
You can get these sale prices online or in store, but as always, stock will be limited. If you want to brave the crowds and get your hands on the items in person, Target stores will be open and offering these deals from 5 PM Thursday, November 22 to 1 AM Friday, November 23. Then–presumably after spending a few hours cleaning up and re-stocking–they’ll re-open Friday, November 23 at 7 AM. It’s possible certain stores will use different hours, so you might want to double-check closer to Black Friday. We’ve broken down all of the various Black Friday store hours to help you know when the deals begin.
Now it’s time for the big list. All of the following games will be available at the prices listed below on Black Friday, but Target says even more games will also be on sale. We’ll update this article when we find out what those are. In the mean time, check out the full list and start planning your Black Friday 2018 purchases now.
