Black Ops 4 launched around the world today, and it's the sweetest Call of Duty in years, assuming you're playing on console. Starting at midnight, players party and get into the fight on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you are preparing to play on a PC, you may have problems connecting or blocking.
In the past years, Call of Duty Fans were anxiously waiting for the midnight countdown to grab their game, download and jump online with friends, completely forgetting that release days often come with a few obstacles.
Last years Call of Duty: World War II had a difficult first day in the trenches with difficult loading times, freeze and server issues that affected all platforms. If you could party and participate in a match, the game just wanted to keep you in this lobby forever. Often, the final dashboard freezes at the end of your match and you suddenly find yourself in a new match without having the opportunity to go back, correct your lessons or gather with friends. The loading in the lobby and the required social space of the headquarters often involved the freezing of black screens, the dissolution of the party or the crash of the blue screen of the PS4. Black Ops 4 did not show any of those first-day nightmares for my team on PlayStation 4, and I see a rather positive reaction on social media for console players. Fortunately, the standard multiplayer modes, Blackout and Zombies work perfectly for me. I have played with groups of friends all morning without any of us having to deal with disconnection, blue screen or server issues.
Treyarch offered us a very easy console launch, so I'm sure I've timed more play time than previous launches. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the multiplayer mode now has a new FortniteEmotes and sprays of style for wall marking, and I endanger my friends by using them as much as possible. There are also a ton of zombies to dive into, and I'm already pretty addicted to the new Rush mode, which offers a more arcade feel and richer than your standard Horde survival mode.
