Blizzard denies Diablo: the reign of terror is a leak of BlizzCon

We may see some form of Diablo announcement at BlizzCon this year, but a set of products with a new name is not an accidental leak, according to the studio. A set of new items listed on the Blizzard Gear Store raised eyebrows with a prominent subtitle: "Diablo Reign of Terror". However, Blizzard told GameSpot that they are not linked to any new content being prepared for the series.

Items include a poster and a t-shirt for men and women, all illustrating the hideous face of the series. This has raised suspicions that "Reign of Terror" could be the subtitle of a new game or a new expansion, especially since Diablo has not seen it since. Reaper of Souls in 2014. But not so, says Blizzard.

"These are names and copies used for some of the new products available at BlizzCon this year, and not direct references to the content of the show," said a spokesman at GameSpot.

We were initially expecting an announcement from Diablo because of Blizzard's schedule for the 2018 BlizzCon. The "Diablo: the sequel" panel follows first after the main speech of the main stage. The existence of a panel "What's Next" in itself says nothing – just about all current Blizzard games get one – but coming right after the presentation on the main stage is usually reserved for the biggest announcement of the event. Diablo has also scheduled a second panel on the world of Diablo, scheduled for the next day.

Blizzard has already indicated that he has several Diablo projects underway. We know one since the announcement of the announcement of Diablo 3 on Nintendo Switch, but the phrasing assumes that more than one is in development. "Some of them will take longer than others, but we may have things to show you later this year," said community leader Brandy Camel.

The BlizzCon 2018 will begin Friday, November 2nd.
