Borderlands 2 VR coming to PlayStation 4 in December

2K and Gearbox Software plan to bring Borderlands the fans deeper into Pandora than every before December 14, when a refitted version of Borderlands 2 launches on PlayStation VR. Who is left for motion sickness?

More than the original game with a new control scheme, Borderlands 2 VR has been significantly reworked to make it user-friendly in virtual reality A new game mechanism, called "BAMF Time" (or "BadAss Mega Fun Time") slows the action, allowing players to dodge balls and to perform other cool maneuvers. The driving of vehicles is now in the first person, the weapons being controlled by the movement of the head, and players can choose between a standard controller movement or this new point-to-point teleport system to the VR standard.

First person driving with weapons to the head? Count me deliciously sickly!

And this version of Borderlands 2 is a solo experience, which means that Vault Hunter skills that rely on teamwork are excluded. Maya's "Res" ability, for example, now calls "Empathy", which gnaws at her and hurts enemies, with the added bonus of double healing points during BAMF.

Hey Maya.

Changes aside, Borderlands 2 VR seems to be a closer and personal version of the original. Collect normal size weapons in treasure chests, get so close to enemies that you can almost feel them – this seems like a good time.

Borderlands 2 VR arrives on PlayStation VR on December 14th.
