Call of Duty: Blackout's Blackout beta test for its first Royal Battle Card is now available on PlayStation 4.

The Call of Duty community has its first experience with Blackout mode, which allows 80 players to end up on a card in last place, 1,500 times the size of Nuketown.

Activision's Treyarch studio designed the Blackout mode and its first card as a celebration of the Black Ops series, featuring favorite characters, weapons, and iconic card games such as Nuketown.

The Black Ops series has exceeded more than 200 million players and 15 billion hours of play over its lifetime, much of which comes from multiplayer modes. The addition of a royal battle could boost these already impressive numbers.

The map shows land, sea and air vehicles. The closed beta will provide feedback and user data when Activision and Treyarch prepare to release the game on October 12th on the consoles and PCs. The Royal Battle Mode is a new addition to Black Ops, which will not have a single-player campaign for the first time in franchise history.

Blackout includes iconic characters and locations from Black Ops, Black Ops II, Black Ops III, and Black Ops 4. The private beta includes a variety of new and classic playable characters, including campaign characters such as Mason, Reznov and Woods; Zombie characters like Richtofen and Takeo; and specialists like Crash, Battery and Seraph.

"The beta version of Blackout is only the beginning of a long journey that we plan to conduct with our fans," said Dan Bunting, Treyarch's co-studio, in a statement. "We are going to support Blackout in the long run, and the history of Black Ops is so rich that it allows us to continually update and evolve Blackout to keep it fun and fresh for the community. This is a true celebration of Black Ops in every way, and it is essential that our community plays the mode before launch. We can not wait to see the comments and hear the players' comments as they get a glimpse of what will happen in October. "

"The development effort behind Blackout has been a tremendous undertaking and we could not be more proud of what the team has accomplished," said Mark Gordon, Treyarch's co-studio, in a statement. "It's great to see how Blackout has mobilized the whole team in an unprecedented way. We could not be more excited about bringing Blackout's extensive Black Ops heritage to life, and we can not wait for the community to share their comments as we prepare to launch.

On the massive Blackout card, players will battle in places inspired by fans' favorite Black Ops cards, such as Nuketown, Firing Range, Raid, Cargo and more.
