Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 requires 50 GB update on the first day

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will use a good amount of space on the hard drive when it is installed from disk, but you will also need to keep some free space for the first day fix. Depending on the console of your choice, you must have at least 112 GB of free space to carry out the installation.

According to the Activision Support page, the first day update has a download size of 50 GB and, once the operation is complete, the game will leave a 55 GB footprint on your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. On PlayStation 4, you will need more space, but you will need to have 112 GB of free hard disk space to benefit from an "optimized download experience". However, this is the size required to complete the installation. Once the process is complete, the system returns to the required size of 55 GB.

The update seems to add the necessary components for multiplayer modes, including zombies, specialist headquarters and the new Battle Royal Blackout mode. The notes mention that Blackout will be playable once the installation has reached about 30% on both consoles. On PlayStation 4, be sure to select "Update to Latest Version" when the prompt appears to be able to access Blackout during installation.

Each of these notes is for disk copies that require a separate installation on the first day. If you buy it in digital form, its size will be 55 GB without any additional fix. See our pre-order guide for more details.
