In 2017, Consumer Reports, a trusted recommendation site, made the headlines after the explosion of Microsoft's Surface range for reliability issues. By polling more than 90,000 subscribers, the group did not recommend the collection of high-end PCs and tablets, which could have a significant impact on sales. Our editor, Daniel Rubino, questioned his findings at the time, while deepening Consumer Reports' methodology.
Consumer Reports has recently reversed its position on Surface, now recommending Surface Pro, Surface Laptop and Surface Book 2 to consumers. However, we are not yet short of horror stories from Windows Central readers, as shown by a recent article in our forums.
