Lincoln Motor Co. will debut with the all-new Aviator at the Los Angeles Auto Show this month, before its launch in 2019, and the SUV comes with its own Detroit soundtrack.

Lincoln has partnered with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to develop and record chimes to replace audible beeps or chimes that would typically signal to a driver the presence of an open gas cap unlocked security or an open door. In total, the orchestra has developed "non-critical chimes with progressive warning and high warning" for 25 functions of the airman.

The DSO worked for several sessions to develop the alerts. Lincoln has reduced chime sounds from 125 recorded options. This is a very first feature for Lincoln.

"Aviator represents the true vision of the Lincoln brand," said Lincoln's design director, David Woodhouse, in a statement. "With such a look, we needed sounds matching the beauty of this vehicle."

The Aviator is pursuing a series of launches or redevelopments for the luxury brand Ford Motor Co. during an ongoing rebranding effort. His return brings a three-row SUV essential to the small range of Lincoln. The designers have therefore paid close attention to the details with the vehicle that Lincoln hopes to compete with Acura, Cadillac and other high-end brands.

The Aviator is inspired by the Lincoln Navigator, which launched its current version last year to welcome its design. If the Aviator even sees some of the success of the Navigator and the new Ford Expedition since their introduction, it will help to improve the bottom line of Lincoln, said officials. The automaker is currently experiencing a slump in sales – with much of the rest of the industry – while it's starting to sell a new MKC and crossover SUV Nautilus.

Lincoln announced that it would debut with five other new SUVs in the next few years, in addition to the Aviator. The Aviator will have a hybrid plug-in option when it goes on sale in 2019, a first for the company. Lincoln is also introducing a new technology on the vehicle, a keyless entry system that allows users to unlock and start the SUV with a smartphone and leave keychains in the house.
