Blizzard limits the time allotted for players to play the World of Warcraft: Classic demo. Basically, after playing for an hour, players will be disconnected and will have to wait 60 minutes before resuming for an hour. The goal is to ensure that a mass of players do not crash servers, which, honestly, if the services crashed at random, would be the most classic thing that Blizzard could do to recreate the original WoW experience.
In a forum, Blizzard hopes to lift the boundaries of the session as soon as possible.
Here are some examples provided by Blizzard to illustrate the limitations of the session:
- If you play for 30 minutes and you log out for 60 minutes, you will have 60 minutes upon your return.
- If you play for 60 minutes, you will be disconnected and will have to wait 30 minutes before you can replay.
- If you play for 20 minutes, disconnect for 20 minutes, then play another 40 minutes. You will be disconnected and wait 10 minutes more.
Previously, Blizzard had stated that the demo players would start at level 15. The goal was to give players enough time to become familiar with the different classes. The best way to do this is to use a character with an established skill tree. However, characters are limited to level 19 and will not be able to play the full game once the demo is complete. Enjoy as long as it lasts.
