Comcast is currently experiencing a national outage in the United States, which is why social media users complain that they can not connect to platforms like Sony PlayStation, Netflix, and Microsoft Xbox Live. Essentially, the outage can cause problems for anyone using Xfinity as an ISP, regardless of the products, applications, or services they are trying to access.
According to Down Detector, there have been more than 11,000 reports of Comcast failures since 12:30 pm ET. Comcast confirmed the breakdown on Twitter, with a spokeswoman saying that the company "is working to restore the service." Microsoft has updated its status page to indicate that Xbox Live members may have connection issues. One of its "big backbone network partners" cut a fiber optic cable, which could also affect other ISPs.
