Microsoft releases a new patch of PCs on the latest version of Windows 10. The cumulative update KB4284848 is being deployed for the Windows 10 April 2018 update, by checking the build number to version 17134.137 with a long list of bugfixes.
Here is an overview of what's new:
- Resolves a problem that causes the operation of the HDR Stream Calibration Cursor Video Settings to stop. This is due to a conflict with the panel brightness settings configured by some OEMs.
- Resolves streaming compatibility issues with some live streaming content providers.
- Resolves an issue where media content previously generated by Media Center is not read after installing the Windows 10 April 2018 update.
- Resolves an issue in which SmartHeap did not work with UCRT.
- Resolves performance regression in App-V, which slows down many actions in Windows 10.
- Resolves an issue that prevents Appmonitor from logging off if the Settingstorage path is not set correctly.
- Resolves an issue that prevents Appmonitor from logging off and user settings are not saved.
- Resolves an issue where client applications running in a container image do not conform to the dynamic port range.
- Resolves an issue where the DNS server may stop working when using DNS query resolution policies with a "Not Equal" (NE) condition.
- Resolves a problem with T1 and T2 custom values after configuring DHCP failover.
- Fixes an issue that prevented the latest versions of Google Chrome (67.0.3396.79+) from running on Cobalt devices.
- Resolves issues with the Remote Desktop Client where pop-ups and drop-down menus do not appear and the right-click does not work properly. These problems occur when using remote applications. Before you install this update, read KB4340846, "The remote desktop ActiveX control (mstscax.dll) does not match the client shell version."
- Resolves an issue that causes a connection failure when a Remote Desktop Connection does not read the workaround for a proxy that has multiple entries.
- Fixes a problem that may prevent Microsoft Edge from functioning when it initiates the download of a font from a malformed URL (not RFC compliant).
- Resolves an issue where some users may receive an error when accessing files or running programs from a shared folder using the SMBv1 protocol. The error is "An invalid argument has been provided".
- Resolves an issue that causes task scheduler tasks configured with an S4U connection to fail with the error "ERROR_NO_SUCH_LOGON_SESSION / STATUS_NO_TRUST_SAM_ACCOUNT".
If you are using a PC on the April 2018 update, you should be able to recover the latest set of patches via Windows Update now. No known issues are included in this update.
