Dark mode begins to roll out on Google News

In short: Google has gradually deployed dark fashions for many of its applications and it now appears that Google News is about to be the latest to benefit from dark mode processing. A number of Reddit and Twitter users said they have this new dark mode on their devices, for the Google News app. It's a dark mode, but not a true black mode, as one would expect Google to use if their new Pixel 3 smartphones have an OLED display (better battery life). But it's a good change, especially for those who like to follow news in bed, in the dark.

Context: Google has tested dark mode on a few other apps, including Google Feed, which is now Discover. It shows its users that Google is looking to switch to a darker interface, or at least offer them this option, which Android users have been asking for for a long time. It has not been launched for Google News yet, but it looks like it will soon be.

Impact: This feature is not yet available for everyone, but you can check the settings in the Google News app to see if it is available. It will appear in the "General" section in the settings. It allows you to choose when to switch to dark mode. That it is always activated, only when the sun goes down or even when the battery saver is activated. Many people are now asking for the dark mode. I therefore hope that Google does not take advantage of this period to deploy this feature and broadcasts it quickly to everyone.
