DC Entertainment has finally unveiled detailed information about its upcoming subscription service, DC Universe.
The service was announced last year as the platform that will host new TV shows DC as a live-action Titans ] series, the third season of the animated series Young Justice plus a new animated series Harley Quinn and live-action shows based on Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing. DC Universe will be much more than just a simple streaming original content service. It will also host classic DC movies and TV shows, as well as an extensive collection of comics, a fan community forum, an informative DC encyclopedia and a merchandise store. The service should be operational this fall, but beta access will open in August;
The debut on the platform later this year, Titans will follow young heroes like Robin (Brenton Thwaites) and Rachel Roth (aka Raven, a girl possessed by a strange darkness) as they take a conspiracy to bring hell to earth (which sounds like it might involve Raven Trigon's demonic father). The team will also include hot-headed Alien Starfire and the adorable Beast Boy metamorph. Young Justice: Outsiders the third season of the canceled animated series, will debut on service next year and will follow even more young DC heroes (including new characters) like them and their friends are targeted by the meta-human traffic and an intergalactic arms race to take control of these young superpowers. The animated series for adults Harley Quinn will also debut next year, and will follow Harley's adventures after breaking with the Joker. With the help of his long-time friend, Poison Ivy, and other opponents of DC, Harley will try to win a place at the Legion of Destiny
The Doom Patrol Series in 2019, presents some of the weirdest superheroes ever created by DC: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman, and Crazy Jane, summoned by the enigmatic Dr. Niles Caulder and put into action by Cyborg (which may explain why he does not) Is not involved in the Titans series) to explore the strangest corners of the DC world. The inclusion of Crazy Jane (a woman with many multiple personalities, each of whom has different powers) suggests that the series might be inspired by the fascinating and influential Doom Patrol series of writer Grant Morrison in the 80s, in addition to the long history. Swamp Thing also scheduled to debut in 2019, follows Abby Arcane while she's investigating a strange swamp in Louisiana with mystical and terrifying secrets.
In addition to the original shows, DC Universe will also host a bevy of DC series and classic films, from Batman: The Animated Series to Lynda Carter's classic Wonder Woman series (which will be available in HD for the first time). Animation films like Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and Green Lantern: First Flight will also be included.
DC Universe also comes with a comic reader. This tool differs from existing cartoon readers like Marvel Unlimited and Comixology because, in addition to being accessible on a smartphone or tablet, it will also allow readers to scroll through comics on their television screen. The library will not include any comics published by DC in its 80-year history, but the selection of thousands of comics will include classics like Action Comics # 1 and ] Detective Comics # 27 (the original appearances of Superman and Batman, respectively) as well as the Justice Series by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee, and the 2013 Harley Quinn series by Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner. The comic reader is a mix of art and technology that would further enhance the experiences of fans of live and animated programming, "said Dan DiDio, publisher of DC, in a statement. The hand from decades of comic creations gives fans a digital themed long takeaway box on the device of their choice or allows them to watch exclusive video content on the big screen followed by the comic book that shows them. inspired.
