Despite the DOJ's investigation, Huawei does not expect to be banned from the US supply chain like ZTE

Chinese equipment maker and smartphone maker ZTE has not been able to procure parts in the US since the beginning of the year thanks to an export ban imposed on the company. Considering that a third of the hardware, software and components needed by the company to build a phone comes from the United States, nothing less than the survival of ZTE's business is at stake because the company is the subject of a standoff between Congress and the White. House
The executive said that because of its goal of using the best technologies, Huawei "will continue to buy American chips this year." He has apparently started working on his own operating system just in case he loses access to the licensed version of Google 's Android. And even though he owns his own range of Kirin chipsets that he uses to power his phones, Huawei uses chips designed for RAM, LTE modem and battery charger controller.
The US government worries for Huawei and ZTE's ties with the Chinese government, and is concerned that both companies are stealing information from consumers and US companies. Huawei denied that, calling it "baseless speculation".
