Devil May Cry 5 – A Revealed Weapon

At a panel in New York Comic Con, Capcom has revealed more weapons that will come to Devil May Cry 5.

The panel was not broadcast live, but YouTuber R K uploaded images of the event – making it an extremely interesting viewing.

First, the Cavaliere motorcycle weapon is detailed, showing us what we can do with the Swordmaster style weapon.

The Balrog and Cerberus groups (both coming back from Devil May Cry 3) were also shown, with the latter benefiting from three interesting modes this time around.

Finally, we see the Faust. Oddly, it's a hat that uses your collected red orbs to reinforce its powerful attacks, but if you kill enemies with certain moves, it will reward you with even more red orbs.

The set of Dante weapon videos is visible on the aforementioned Youtube account.

Let me do that. I have never played a Devil May Cry game before. I like hack n slash games since I was a kid, but I have never touched the series, although it is the golden kid of the genre. I played Bayonetta, who seems to be his closest neighbor, clearly pulling a lot of influence from the franchise.

This means that I do not know my Nero with my Dante, but as soon as I feel the power of the demon Breaker, all my naivete is gone.

It's a feeling-based game series, and Devil May Cry 5 is doing its best to set the tone and speed up the madness in the first second.

But first, I have to talk about the appearance of this game. The pavement soaked in rain is juxtaposed with the vibrant hue of the balloons above while the coat of Nero floats in the wind.

Shadows of demons are projected on the walls and threaten you in the next zone, a huge skyscraper lined with neon lights pulsating with demons.

The clearly English Gothic architecture and color scheme are a feast for the senses, and it's great to see how minutiae such as double decker buses and ambulances line up alongside the growths of apocalyptic demons covering most structures.

The drawings of Eldritch Demon are full of details, a level never before equaled by Bloodborne. Their poignant, insect-inspired creations are exposed by beautiful ambient lighting as coagulated blood globes gush around the room as you tear them apart.

In the background, a heavy bass line pulls endorphins at your brain as you try to understand the combo system. I've activated Auto Assist because I'm not really a veteran and I wanted to make the most of the demo.

What followed was a series of magical combos that blew me around the arena, using my weapon as a jump protector and literally lifting my sword by hitting the trigger thoroughly.

The haptic vibration is beautiful and it's amazing to give the sword to the demon sword once you've loaded the weapon.

Not to mention the Devil Breakers, the customizable arms of Nero that can be used as a powerful attack to eliminate enemies or (when in a serious impasse) as a massive and amazing explosion.

This cuts off your arm and you only have a limited amount of hammers before you end up without a limb.

Being forced to think about amount The combination of weapons you have left in combat adds a fascinating tactical twist to the formula and is, in my opinion, the only point of sale that makes this game shine.

I used to use the arm to escape harmful traps or to cause huge damage to a main enemy, but I also really enjoyed the challenge of facing a Nero without arms when I had too much used my power.

Nero as a character is effortless friendly. He instantly made me think of Spider-Man, showing wisdom and up to his bold pretentious pretensions.

His incessant teasing has motivated me to make even more wacky combos in the game. Devil May Cry 5 is a very elegant game and dare I say, extremely cool, which derives its vision from the soundtrack of aesthetics . In a sea of games, he pushes forward and proclaims his awesomeness, and it was something that I could totally respect in a game that boiled down to action.

As I tore down the last boss in the chaos of a ruined fort, I smiled and bit my lip trying to chain the next foolish combo to crush my foe. I look forward to doing the same when the game is played on March 8, 2019.

Devil May Cry 5 – Famitsu Update

More information about Devil May Cry 5 started circulating thanks to the Japanese magazine Famitsu.

According to the magazine – which has conducted an interview with director Itsuno and producers Matt Walker and Okabe – the developer seeks to make Devil May Cry 5 the pinnacle of action games of the modern era … an ambitious goal!

Thanks to Siliconera, some elements of the interview have been translated from Japanese – you can see them below.

  • The goal for Devil can cry 5 photorealism, and they work on a constant speed of 60 frames per second for a high-speed combat feel that you can only get from Devil can cry.
  • When it comes to graphics, Capcom does not just scan in 3D, it also scans clothes.
  • Previously, the focus was on the answer so that players could cancel the move, but for Devil can cry 5 the entry will be read but it will not just go through the animation of the previous action.
  • The developers say that if you could do the same thing (jumping out of motion) as before, but with the photorealistic quality of Devil can cry 5it would look strange. This is what Capcom calls "the mysterious valley of action".
  • For example, when you turn around, you will feel the weight behind the movement of the character. However, this poses another problem of slower response. The team struggled to find a way to maintain responsiveness while giving it a more photorealistic appearance.
  • Capcom wanted a Nero at the top of his mind and body, so they left a few years later. the devil can cry 4.
  • Dante did not go crazy for no reason.

You can see a lot more information about the game from the interview on the Siliconera link.

Devil May Cry 5 – Revelation on age

Devil May Cry 5 will be the first game in the series to score more than 18 years old.

This has interesting implications – since the other games in the series have a fairly mature theme (including violence, swear words, and light sexual themes), none of them has the highest rating PEGI games can receive.

After being revealed on the final European boxing, the age rating has prompted fans to wonder what made it so severe this time … is it possible that we see more human enemies (and therefore blood) in the game? ?

Is there going to be more sexual themes this time around? Maybe the mouths of Dante and Nero will become even ruder.

Apparently, the game is over 75% complete from a development point of view. We hope to know the reason for this assessment soon.

Devil May Cry 5 – Actors

Devil May Cry 5 is going to be an extremely important game for Capcom and a new way to feel this renewed importance in the series lies in the new techniques with which the development team seeks to improve the appearance of the game and the characters. better than ever.

For example, this is the first game in the series that will use real-life scanned models to give characters as realistic a look as possible.

You do not have to worry about voiceover artists, which are the same as those of previous games.

However, for those who want to know a little more about how the game is set up, Dante's model is Adam Covie. As for Nero, the model is Karlo Baker.

You can better see the characters and their real counterparts just below.

Devil May Cry 5 – Improve on DmC

DmC was a controversial release of Capcom – it divides Devil May Cry fans, some players worshiping the alternative opinion about Dante and co, and others fearing the "too angry" tone and the obnoxious protagonist.

Capcom is aware of the reaction to the game but is apparently still proud of it and is keen to use lessons learned from the project to improve Devil May Cry 5.

"It's definitely a game for fans, we've been hearing from fans asking for a sequel to the DMC4 storyline for over a decade," producer Matt Walker told VG247 about the title's follow-up. "But it's not a flaw in Ninja Theory or DmC. We all love the DMC. "

"We learned a lot from working with Ninja Theory on this title, and we hope they will benefit as well. Itsuno-san pointed out several times during conversations with me that he relied on what he had learned from working with DmC and applied what he had learned specifically to what we had done on DMC5 . "

You can read more on the link.

Devil May Cry 5 – Learn From Ninja Theory

In an interview with Game Informer, Hideaki Itsuno, game designer for Devil May Cry 5, said the development team had learned a lot from the previous project in the series, DmC, on which Ninja Theory had worked.

"Ninja Theory and DmC have learned a lot, it was a collaboration between Capcom and Ninja Theory, I went to Cambridge once every two months to work with these guys, so we learned a lot from them and you want to talk about elegant … Ninja Theory, these guys are an incarnated style, man.

"What they did with DmC, this artistic style, these animations, it's real style, you know, so we took advantage of what we learned from that.

"Even things like kill cams, for example, we took a lot and learned that we were also trying to implement this in this game."

"Another thing is that we have a lot of friends who like DmC.For me, DmC is one of my favorite DMC games, if it's not my favorite." And we wanted to create the game so that fans of this game can enjoy the way it controls just as much as they enjoyed DMC. "

So it seems that DMC5 will take the best bits of the reboot while retaining what fans love in the main series – that's good news.

Devil May Cry 5 – Rumors

The following information comes from an infodump of ResetEra before the game has been revealed – Although this information can not be verified, it certainly seems legitimate and seems to indicate that the game is already a step forward in the development.

• The release of the game is scheduled for the fiscal year 2019. This means that between April 2018 and March 2019. The original plan was to release it in November 2018, but the date MOLD was pushed back to the beginning of 2019.

• Initially, DMCV was to be announced on PSX, but after receiving feedback on its press conference on E3, Sony decided to reduce its use on PSX and instead develop the E3 2018. DMCV has unfortunately, I was the victim of this choice. It is therefore unlikely that DMCV will get officially revealed in 2017.

• There will be a demo of the game before the release.
The game has been in development for 2 years as of today. When it comes out, it will be in development for at least 3 years. This is actually the best time for a DMC game in full production. Pre-production started in 2015, around the end of the DMC4SE release. There was no development problem and, as indicated, development progressed smoothly.

• There is a form of PlayStation exclusivity. Sony is financing part of the game's funding, but its amount is not known. Could be completely exclusive to the PS4, exclusive to the console or exclusive. If the game is announced publicly, it will be at a Sony event. That's why many people thought that it would happen on PSX.

Devil May Cry 5 – Microtransactions

A GameSpot report revealed that Devil May Cry 5 will include microtransactions.

According to the article, you can use the Divinity statues of the game to boost your abilities and your weapons by spending red orbs – up to now, a standard for the series.

However, there was also an option to spend real money and use in-game purchases to energize your characters.

In an interview with GameSpot, the director of the game, Hideaki Itsuno, noted that microtransactions are there so that players can take shortcuts if they wish.

"If they want to save time and they want to have everything at once, they can do it, but on the other hand, I do not think it's necessary to move everything." said Itsuno. "You should be able to play as you want."

It seems that IAPs will not have too much impact on the game: they will in fact be only optional shortcuts for players who want to control themselves quickly.

Devil May Cry 5 – Development

Again, this information comes from the ResetEra information dump and has not been verified; take them with a pinch of salt. Most of the information seems accurate at the time of writing this article (July 3, 2018)

• Itsuno team who worked on previous DMC games and Dragon's Dogma works on DMCV.

• Yuji Shimomura is back as director of DMCV cinematics. He worked on the DMC3, DMC4 and Bayonetta cinematics.
• Rueben Langdon returns to his role as Dante.
• Johnny Young Bosch returns to his Nero role.
• Dan Southworth returns to his role as Vergil.
• No word about the actresses who played Trish and Lady if they come back,
• Onyay Pheori helps the soundtrack (she wrote the song for the DMC4SE launch trailer).

Devil May Cry 5 – Gameplay

Again, this information comes from the ResetEra information dump and has not been verified; take them with a pinch of salt.

• Firm lock is standard.
• The console is targeted at 60 frames per second like previous DMC games.
• Level design is more open than previous DMC games, but does not enter Souls or the open world of level design. The movements outside the fights have been streamlined to match the open nature of the game. The structure is more open to make the experience more "smooth". Immersion is important for the team with this game.
• Design and level exploration is more like Bayonetta with defined action pieces, but without QTEs. QTE in general does not currently exist in DMCV.
• There is NO Stamina bar.
• This is not a Musou game, but there will be encounters in which you will face more enemies than you are used to in a DMC game.
• There is some online integration but certainly no multiplayer PvP.
• The dodge system is reworked and dodge in general is supposed to be much smoother than before (get ready to hear the word "smooth out" a lot when it is associated with DMCV ).
• The camera moves back during big fights. The developers are really proud of the new, more dynamic camera system.
• Animations are improved to be less rigid. Great emphasis on tissue physics (maybe Dante's sword may not be cut in his jacket now!). The battles are beautifully animated and fluid.
• Mission and ranking system similar to previous DMC and Bayonetta games. There will certainly be selected missions / chapters.
• The rise of bosses in DMCV is spectacular. One of the boss moves between multiple areas of the game.
• The style system is in Dante – The enemies will react differently to each style.
• The style system has been simplified to be simpler to use for readers (it is assumed that the style system could be adjusted / modified to make it easier to use than in DMC4).
• Some styles will have some advantages over some DmC / DMC3-like enemies (you can use only one style on any enemy).
• More interactivity in the environment than any previous DMC game. This is supposed to complement the combat system and not weaken it.
• There is some form of dynamic destruction / transformation of the environment at stake, but not at the scale of the CGD to date.
• Although not an open game, some inspirations have been inspired by Dragon's Dogma.

The most powerful demon killer.

The owner of Devil May Cry and a devil hunter of legendary proportions. Dante is a half-human, half-demon hybrid, born to a human Eva woman and the demon who saved the human world, Sparda. He has defeated battle after difficult battle of his past and currently serves as a barrier to any attempts by demons to invade his world. Dante greets all opponents with an iconic smile. At the request of a client, Dante launches again into the fray against the demonic forces.

Dante's classic arsenal

Dante is back to eliminate the powerful demons with his former criminal partners:

-Rebellion

The beloved sword of Dante, left by his father Sparda. It rotates this blade with ease despite its massive size, which allows a multitude of sword blows.

Ivory Ebene

Rapid fire pistols designed by legendary armorer Nell Goldstein. Assembled by Dante himself, each firearm has its own faculty: accuracy and speed, respectively.

-Coyote-A

A shotgun modified by Dante to use in the fight against demons. Its exceptional power in close approach largely compensates for its lack of speed.

-Balrog

A devil arm made for melee combat, overflowing with the sealed power of the king of hell from fire. Kick mode releases powerful kicks, while Blow mode allows agile maneuvers. Use one or the other mode to crush the demons easily.

-Cavaliere

A heavy weapon from materials infused with demonic power. Lie down on the pain with its motorcycle spinning wheels, or pinch it to the handlebars in the form of a pair of massive twin swords. Dante can even attack from the driver's seat. Bladed wheels and rams-shaped pointed projections reduce the demons to demons.

-Sparda evil sword

The blade worn by the Black Knight Sparda, which bears his own name. The incredible power of the interior allows this blade to choose its own user. This sword was once used to seal the demon king Mundus.

– Triggering the devil

Dante's lineage allows him to exploit the power of demons through a process called Devil's Trigger. The Devil's Gauge (DT) fills up in combat and DT's activation turns Dante into his devil form. In this form, Dante gains in power and vitality. Activate it in the blink of an eye or keep it for formidable enemies: the way you use this power depends on you.
