Diablo III on Nintendo Switch Review

[ad_1]

What happens when our resident player "PC Master Race" gets his hands on the Diablo III: Eternal Collection for Nintendo Switch? Nice things, friends, beautiful things.

It seems that since the release of the Nintendo Hybrid Console, the question common to all games is: "When will it arrive at the switch?" With a long list of already successful ports on the wearable platform, including big names such as Wolfenstein II and Skyrim, the excitement was immediately felt when Blizzard unveiled that the Diablo III the experience would make its way too.

This is the fourth platform I'm playing now, with Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in mind. Usually, my favorite computer is the PC, so when I sat down to try it myself, I knew it would be nice, but I still expected to keep this high "PC Master Race ". Damn, was I wrong and honestly? Happy for that.

This port was beautiful. It was fluid, the mechanics were smooth, the progression was easy to follow, the portability added an entirely new immersion layer. For Diablo lovers, that's the port and an experience that is really worth the double-dip.

Diablo III: The eternal collection Technically not offer a lot of "novelties" in gaming other than the exclusive equipment of Legend of Zelda such as the Ganondorf aesthetic armor set, the Tri-Force portrait frame, the l & # 39; 39; pet Cucco and the Echoes of the Hide the cosmetic wings. The ability to play on the go is nice, even in a pocket computer. The opportunity to play with friends on site thanks to Joy-Cons is also phenomenal and a game-changer for professional convention participants.

Looking at the previous ports such as Skyrim, Wolfenstein II, DOOM … the transition from the mega platform to the hybrid console has been incredibly smooth. Diablo III was no different and – support me as I disgrace my PC name – almost better.

Roll with her

Although the Nintendo Switch version was not the first to implement the mechanics of the roll, it still lacks glaringly on PC. With the games in this particular niche, console ports are usually examined from a practical point of view, not necessarily optimized. Convenience, although definitely part of the Switch port, was not his main focus. Instead, the Eternal collection offers an incredibly smooth gaming experience that manages both anchored and remote settings as a dream.

The way the controls draw the game is incredibly fluid, which makes it much easier to return to a Rift with your favorite hand. For this review, I moved away from my usual role of Demon Hunter and decided to go to Monk 's place. This change has somewhat lessened my enthusiasm for the game – the monk's OP nature has even made it better. Diablo III was intended for switch and portability, accessibility and successful integration with the hardware support this one thousand percent concept. Because of this, this port will have a long life in terms of gameplay.

Offline game and specifications

Another aspect of this port that I really enjoyed is that, if you put the game offline, you will not lose anything from your XP, loot or progress. Take him on a journey with you, take him on a journey, wherever you are! This time will not be for nothing and the clever backup feature in the cloud makes it even easier to pick up where you left off.

Speaking of travel, let's talk about specifications for a second. Unmoored, the Eternal collection will work at 720p while the anchored version will maintain an experience of 960p at 60 fps. Although there seems to be a noticeable gap, he was hardly noticeable while playing. I often traded between moored and moored to play with another player and give some rest to this mediocre battery and I did not find the pleasure or enthusiasm muted in one way or in the other .

Multiplayer and battery life

Switching from multiplayer to solo mode was easier than ever. As expected in previous versions, local cooperation and online matching were easy to predict – but, as mentioned earlier, the Joy-Cons made it even more accessible. Since each switch comes with two remote Joy-Remote remotes, a handheld is the set of players needed to participate in this 2P sofa cooperation experience.

Even with four players at the same time, the game continued to run smoothly, without being bothered by the perceived limitations of the Nintendo Switch. The only drawback is that the battery life leaves a lot to be desired. If you do not already have a battery, it is worth it to invest. On average, I would need between 2.5 and a half hours of remote play time before the "Low Battery" prompt appears. But – the stopped game helps that and there are ways to get around it. Battery life was expected, as it's pretty traditional with the larger versions of the Switch game.

Our take

This port is a dream and is perfect for those who love grind or just want to throw it with friends for a nice gaming experience. I really believe Diablo III reached the pinnacle of his pleasure with the Nintendo switch he was made for the portable console and the polished finish is really a testimony of this fact.

You have not really appreciated Diablo As long as you have not played on Nintendo Switch and as a PC player, I have no shame in admitting that Switch has done better.

WWG score: 4.5 / 5.
